SuperCon 2K Series at Space City Comic Con

SuperCon 2K Series makes its way to the wonderful city of Houston to bring the ultimate game program to Space City Comic Con. Space City Comic Con is knows for bringing fans together. Space City Comic Con is the Gulf Coast’s fan-culture convention and family entertainment, pop-culture expo for all ages. For fans of comics, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, literature and art this is the place to be in July.

We are bringing the heat with our new PC addition from our sponsors Alienware, more variety of AAA and indie games, game developers and much more. Get ready Houston because SuperCon 2K Series is your ultimate source for gaming at a convention.

 

Promotions / Prizes:

The OPPORTUNITY FUND contest allows anyone and everyone at a convention/event to win prize packages from all the sponsors of associated with the SuperCon 2K Series. We are giving out variety OPPORTUNITY FUND packages on Saturday and Sunday. There will be two type of packages:

  • Buy a badge for the convention/event

Overall Rules:

  1. Match Length: All Matches will be Best of 1 Game.
  2. Game Ties: If players tie in score, the tie will be decided in the following way: Highest Score > Least Deaths > Highest Assists > Coin Flip.
  3. Warm-up: No warm-up or practice Games are permitted once the Match’s first Game has begun. If a Match is played before the scheduled time, it will not be considered a warm-up and will count as the official results.
  4. Delays: Teams may not delay the start of a Match beyond its scheduled start time, without the approval of a Tournament Official. Teams may delay a Match between Games for up to ten minutes. Teams can request that a Tournament Official enforce this ten minute time limit. After ten minutes of a Tournament Official enforced delay, if the delaying Team does not have the minimum required Players, they will Forfeit the Match.
  5. Required Players: The Custom Game lobby must have all Players present by 15 minutes after a Match’s default start time (Grace Period). After this period, Tournament Support must be contacted to receive permission to start the game man down. If the no-show of any player(s) is not verified, that Free for All match will be replayed.
  6. Disconnections: Free for All Games must be restarted if a Player disconnects in the first 10 seconds and before the first kill. If a Player disconnects from a Free for All Game after the first 10 seconds, the Game must continue and the Player may rejoin the Game.
  7. Normal Boundaries: Players who move their Character outside of the normal boundaries of a Map may Forfeit the Game. Moving outside of the normal boundaries of a Map includes but is not limited to part of the Character’s body passing through what should be a non-permeable surface or object, and moving into any area from which your Character registers shots on an opponent who is not able to register shots on your Character.
  8. Outside Players/Spectators: After a Custom Game has been created, only eligible Players on the two Teams and Staff members may be invited/join. If an ineligible Player joins a Game, the Game must be ended. If a Player is found to have invited an ineligible Player to a Game, they will Forfeit the Game.

  • Double Blind Character Selection: Either player may request that a double blind selection occur for the first game of a match. To do so, call for a tournament official. Then in secret each player will tell their character selections. After all players do, the tournament official will announce the characters being used for the first game of a match
  • Stage Clause: A player/team may not pick any stage they previously won on during the set
  • Counterpicks: During the stage ban phase, the player/team who won the previous game may ban 2 stages from either the Starter or Counterpick lists.The loser of the previous game will then select a stage. After which, first the winning player(s) will select their characters followed by the player(s) that selected the stage
  • Sudden Death with a tied percentage/stock count will NOT determine the outcome of a tied game. A playoff match with 1 stock/2 minutes will determine the winner
  • Stalling is banned: The act of stalling is intentionally making the game unplayable. Stalling tactics include but are not limited to becoming invisible, continuing infinites, chain grabs, or uninterruptible moves past 300%, and reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you. Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., pausing, freeze glitches, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects
  • Alternate Controllers: The Wii U Gamepad, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo 2DS are banned from use as controllers. All other controllers are acceptable for this event.
